Abstract

Abstract

The leachability of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) in soil around the storage facility of a rare-earth processing plant waste in Perak was monitored. Two types of leaching tests were carried. Experiments were performed including for characterization of soil content, pH and liquid-to-solid ratio leaching tests. Results from the leaching tests showed non-significant statistical difference for the Th and U releases from soil around the waste storage facility.
